The Tug Restaurant first opened its doors in December of 1993. Starting out as a small beachfront restaurant on the edge of the wild and mystical Atlantic Ocean, with splendid views onto the iconic Swakopmund jetty. The Tug is popular amongst both tourists and locals and has a reputation for providing delicious meals and an unforgettable ambience. The dining areas, both inside and on the outside terrace, have been extended considerably, to accommodate the growing number of patrons from around the world.
The Tug Restaurant is owned by George Hopking and Brett Southworth, both partners strongly believe that no successful establishment should rely solely on its popularity, but should continue to be innovative meals and provide an outstanding meal experience. Their hands-on approach to the business ensures that only the freshest and highest quality products are used. Staff at the restaurant are loyal and motivated and they are engaged in on going training, in order to provide the customer with a high standard of service.
